Netflix's Korean drama Hospital Playlist is getting more and more popular recording uninterrupted viewership. Here are three facts you need to know to enjoy the show better.

Names in Hopital Playlist are very familiar to Koreans. Because the names of characters including Jun Wan, Jae Hak, Chi Hong, and Seok Min are the same as those of famous Korean baseball players. Character names therefore have stimulated viewers' curiosity and interest from the beginning of the show. Director of Hospital Playlist Shin Won-ho said, “Because there are so many characters, it is a strategy decided by the writer Lee Woo-jung to avoid confusion in the field.” “Each department of gynecology, Hanwha Eagles (Korean baseball team name), and Department of Thoracic Surgery, NC Dinos, has established a team. “I wanted to match the character's name with the department easily” he said. “We solved the viewer's curiosity by revealing the reason for using the name of a baseball player for the character."

The five members, Ikjun (Jung Jeong-suk), Jeong Won (Yun Seok-seok), Jun-wan (Jung Kyung-ho), Seok-hyung (Kim Dae-myeong), and Song Hwa (Jeonmi-do), play different instrument positions in the play. How was the actor's musical instrument position determined? Director Shin Won-ho said, “The position of the musical instrument was already determined for the character and it was a situation where we had to match the casting.” “Fortunately, I thought that Cho Jung-suk would play the guitar (the actor played classic guitar for quite a time), and Yeon-Seok Yoo had an experience with drum and Kim Dae-myung had learned the piano. Jung Kyung-ho also learned the guitar in his previous work, so everyone had some extent of experience with the instrument except for Jeon Mi-do, ”he said. Although the actors had some experience, they learned to play like the fresh starters, practicing right after the casting. Viewers' interest and reaction are enthusiastic as the actors, who have been showing their high-performance, ensemble skills through ceaseless efforts for about a year.
